Overcoming Obstacles to Success in College and Beyond

What challenges are you facing as a STEM student? What concerns do you have as you look ahead to your career in STEM? Join us for this facilitated discussion addressing challenges to success – in college and in your future work environment.

 

Presenters:

Heather Ver Brugge is a Career Development Facilitator at the Office of Career Services at UNM. Heather earned her master’s degree in Counseling from the University of New Mexico. She is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor, a Nationally Certified Counselor, and a Certified Career Counselor.

 

Ray Mitchell is a mental health counselor at UNM Student Health and Counseling (SHAC). Ray earned his master's degree in Counseling and Educational Psychology from New Mexico State University and is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor. He has served over 20 years of his professional career as a counselor at UNM Student Health and Counseling. He also provides workshops at SHAC such as "Tips and Tricks for Academic Success" and "The Stress and Anxiety Toolbox".
